Our journey.

1978 - Slatek is Founded

At the early mist of water industry automation, begun the journey of Slatek. A family owned company based in northern Finland. Ever since Slatek has been in the fore front of development in finnish water industry by delivering automation systems for water utilities around Finland.

1982 - Wideco is founded

Wideco began its journey in Sweden, specializing in developing advanced technologies and industrial solutions for leak detection of District Heating Pipelines. Since 2021, it developed the WISION platform, a unique IoT visualization platform designed for sensors in smart buildings, industries, and cities, based on city networks for 4G/NB and LoRaWAN.

1986 - Inter Act is founded

Inter Act was established in the Netherlands, laying the foundation for decades of innovation in water and energy solutions. In 2000, the company pivoted its strategy to focus on smart water management, automation, and IoT technologies.

2003 - I-Real is founded

I-Real was founded in the Netherlands with a focus on data visualization and automation for smarter infrastructure management.

2020 - Inter Act joins the family

wienerberger, the world's largest brick manufacturer and Europe's leading supplier of pipe systems, acquired Inter Act, integrating its expertise into the group's global operations.

2023 - Wideco Sweden & France joins the family

With Wideco's strong focus on developing innovative IoT solutions, wienerberger was able to expand its smart offerings, enabling clients to improve operational safety, such as leak detection in district heating pipelines and monitoring of underground areas such as water levels in manholes.

2024 - I-Real joins the family

Inter Act acquired I-Real, further enhancing its capabilities in smart water management and automation solutions within the Netherlands.

2024 - Slatek joins the family

Acquisition of Slatek into Wioniq Group, further enhancing its capabilities in smart water management and automation solutions within Finland.

2025 - Wioniq is born

In 2025, Wioniq was born, marking a significant step forward for wienerberger in rapidly advancing smart products. By leveraging expertise in IoT solutions, Wioniq will deliver next-level smart solutions that help shape the future of water, energy, and building management.
